Description

Description (Service) Program to assist Barrie Police Service in reducing crime in the community
  • combined initiative of Barrie Police Service, Police Services Board and the community
  • provides an opportunity for trained members of the general public to patrol their community and report situations requiring police attendance
Volunteer Description
  • Requires adults, 19 years and up
  • must be available for training and be able to donate a minimum of five consecutive hours monthly for one year
  • members, use their own vehicles and are supplied with a cellular phone
  • a patrol lasts for a period of five hours and each member is required to complete a minimum of one patrol per month
  • members do not get actively involved in addressing suspects or dealing with suspicious situations, the objective is strictly to observe and report

  • Age Requirements: 19 year(s) and up
  • require a valid G driver's license and First Aid/CPR
  • require criminal record check and drivers licence check
  • require at least 1 patrol per month for a 5 hr minimum
  • must be able to speak English
  • must be able to work as a team member
