Description (Service)

Offers newborns initial hearing screening in hospital or community clinics

  • a 'refer' result on the first screening calls for a second, more in depth screening
  • in the possibility of hearing loss, assessment is done by a specially trained Infant Audiologist
  • infants identified with permanent childhood hearing impairment provided with follow-up supports and services
