Brings carefully selected dogs and their humans to people in need of companionship at places such as hospitals, long-term care homes, colleges/universities

  • Therapeutic benefits help individuals and their caregivers
  • Paws 4 Stories program helps children build confidence as they learn to read with the non-judgemental presence of a dog, allowing children to read without interruption, improving reading skills and self-esteem

  • must be well-behaved, friendly and outgoing
  • must be healthy and up to date with all vaccinations and well groomed before each visit
Handlers
  • should be ready to commit to at least a one-hour visit at the same facility weekly and are required to attend an orientation session before they are considered for the program
