Description

Description (Service) A self-help peer support and resource centre for people who have or are experiencing mental health and addiction issues, including substance and alcohol abuse

People Supporting People is:
  • a network of people who have experience with mental health issues and/or addiction issues and who believe in the power of peer support
  • a group of trained individuals who provide education to assist persons in dealing with day-to-day issues and in developing a sense of personal well-being
  • a group who, by providing training, serves to enhance self-confidence and help others in the process
  • a program that provides the opportunity to acquire skills and share experiences

  • Boundaries and Self Care
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Handling a Crisis
  • Communication Skills
  • Grief and Loss
  • living on a shoe string budget
  • relapse prevention
  • codependency
  • cognitive behavior therapy CBT

A member of Voices United, a network of consumer/survivor and family members who work in the mental health and addictions field.
