Join the COPE team of volunteers to help impact the lives of local high school students by transporting our dogs and puppies to local high schools to attend the Canines in the Classroom (CIC) program.

Duties
  • Pick up multiple dogs at various locations and transport to and from designated locations for Canines in the Classroom student training and also to Refinement Training, in Barrie and Innisfil, using the van provided by COPE,
  • refuel COE Van at Esso Stations, as needed, using the company gas card,
  • Van pickup and drop-off at COPE office parking lot.

Training Orientation - Book of procedures provided ; Training is provided - Full training on Van ; Shadow driving with another volunteer is mandatory prior to driving van on one's own. As many shadow drives as is necessary until volunteer is ready to go it alone. Lots of support during training and while volunteer is driving.
Transportation Driver License required - Valid G license ; Car required - To drive to office to pick up van. ; Clean driving record is a must.
