Duties

Community volunteers are trained to work as part of a team to assist victims of crime or tragedy by providing emotional support, practical assistance and community referrals. Support can be on-site or by phone. Referrals are from police and community agencies.

Interaction Level One-on-one - Work in teams of 2 ; Virtual Volunteering - may provide telephone support as required

40 + Volunteers are needed throughout Simcoe County. All volunteers are welcome to apply. An initial interview is held prior to acceptance to training.
Training Orientation ; Training is provided ; Scheduled training ; Training on the job ; Training on-going ; Successful applicants must complete a mandatory online and in-class training program. 
Training will prepare volunteers with the skills necessary to work in partnership with police as together they endeavour to support victims of crime and tragic circumstance.
Transportation Driver License required ; Car required ; Must have a valid driver's license and liability insurance on the vehicle being used while on agency business. Must have a cell phone.

Police Check Required
Additional Requirements Must have reliable transportation. Criminal record check will include requirements for working with vulnerable persons. Volunteer will require a cell phone while on duty.
