Wayfinders will guide participants to the new village location and help manage crowd flow, directing 
participants to activity stations as needed. At approximately 10:15 a.m., way finders will move to the start/finish line to support the run kickoff, and then reposition along the 1K route within the village to ensure participants continue through the village and on to the start/finish line to receive their medals.

Time commitment would be roughly from 8am - 12pm

We are seeking dedicated and reliable English-speaking volunteers to tutor adult learners in reading, writing, and/or math. Our learners come from a variety of backgrounds and are working to build foundational skills to support their personal, academic, or career goals.  Requirements: Strong command of spoken and written English, fundamentals of English grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary. Clear and understandable English pronunciation, suitable for learners who are developing foundational literacy skills. Our students are learning the building blocks of English literacy. Tutors must be able to model typical English pronunciation and grammar. We provide training and ongoing support. No formal teaching experience is necessary-- just patience, empathy and a strong grasp of English.
 
NOTE: We ask potential tutors to commit for one year so that they can come alongside a student for that length of time - once students make the decision to improve their skills, they need a tutor who is willing to work with them to increase not only their knowledge but their confidence and self esteem.

Description:
Volunteers will assist with the setup, execution, and takedown of Paws for a Cause, a Pet Walk-a-Thon fundraiser for Samaritan House. This is a fun, outdoor event supporting vulnerable individuals and families in Simcoe County. Volunteers will be assigned to a certain role, you will not be expected to do all of the duties listed below, those are the duties for all of the roles. 

Expected Activities:

• Help with event setup (tables, signs, water stations, etc.)

• Assist with participant registration and check-in

• Guide and encourage participants along the walking route

• Hand out water and refreshments to participants and pets

Barrie Public Library is currently seeking volunteers to assist with children's programs over the summer break. Responsibilities depend on programs offered but may include:

- Providing a friendly, welcoming greeting to children as they join the program. 
- Assisting children during programs to complete activities and/or crafts
- Assisting with ushering duties during programs, such as crowd control, ticket taking, counting attendance, and admitting latecomers. 
- Assisting with craft preparation before the program. 
- Assisting with set up and clean up for the program. 
- Assisting Library staff as required.

Volunteers who successfully complete shifts over the summer will have the option to continue volunteering in the fall.

Our valued and dedicated volunteer team is the strength of Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka. Citizens who join our locally focused committees participate in activities and events to promote public awareness and knowledge of the Crime Stoppers program, the Tip Line, and how we ensure anonymity. THE OPPORTUNITY 

Campfire Circle will be running in-person overnight camp programs at two medically supported overnight camp locations, Rainbow Lake (Waterford, ON) and Muskoka (Rosseau, ON) this summer. We will also be running a Day Camp program in Ottawa.

We are seeking new volunteers age 19+ with a variety of skill sets to participate in a life-changing volunteer experience! New volunteers must commit to one camp session, which can be a 4 to 8 day camp experience (inclusive of on-site training). 
 
Whether it’s at Rainbow Lake, a quiet 143 acres site in Waterford, at Muskoka, which features 400 wooded acres in the town of Rosseau, or at our fun urban Day Camp location Ottawa, you will be connecting kids and families with fun indoor and outdoor activities that help improve their overall wellbeing.

All roles will require you to work in partnership with a team of other volunteers where your first priority will be camper/family safety; ensuring they are supervised and supported at all times.

This is also a time to refresh knitting/crocheting supplies and continue crocheting in the comfort of your own home. On-demand Comfort Kits, ordered through the website, are processed and shipped within a 2-week period. Hospital Comfort Kits are processed and shipped quarterly. 

Hours: 2-4 hours a week; Tuesday – Thursday between the hours of 10:00 and 4:00 pm. 
Location: In-person; Bridget’s Bunnies Office, 65 Cedar Pointe Dr., unit 811A, Barrie

Roles and Responsibilities:

•    Keep the volunteer room clean and organized
•    Pack kits according to orders and keep kits restocked
•    Track supplies and inform the Development Coordinator when supplies are low
•    Strong attention to detail required
•    Must be organized, methodical and a great communicator
•    Enjoys working independently and collaboratively
•    Other administrative tasks as assigned

• Follow regiments and medical chart instructions for each cat in the medroom.  This may include giving medications, syringe feeding, giving sub-q fluids, giving insulin, general cleaning of cats eyes, noses etc
• Check off that treatments have been done and document any changes in cats condition
• Clean and refill water bowls
• Cleaning and filling food bowls, taking note if any cats that require a special type of food
• Keeping the cats cages clean, change any dirty or soiled linens, wipe down cages
• Scoop litter boxes and clean them as needed 
• Ensure Med Room is kept clean. Weep and mop floors, put clean linens away, remove garbage
• Socialize with the cats and kittens; play, brush, pet etc
• This is a once a week committment for a minimum of 6 months

• Arrive 1.5 hours before puck drop for a quick check-in and setup

• Sell 50/50 tickets in the arena until the end of the 2nd period

• Help us raise critical funds that support children with physical disabilities across Ontario

The Barrie Good Food Box is a community buying program for fresh produce. Barrie Good Food box is a program of CMHA Simcoe County.

Our Adult Day Program offers socialization, recreation and support for older adults living with dementia, chronic illnesses or mobility challenges.

• Volunteers play a valuable role in creating a fun, safe and engaging day for our participants
• We are looking for musicians or people to help with crafts, games, socialization, or support for the lunch program

The purpose of the program is to:

As a volunteer in this role, you will: 

• Assist with client intakes.
• Oversee and ensure smooth operation of the reception area at the office, including acting as first point of contact with the public.  
• Reply to general enquiries, information requests and voicemails, and direct incoming calls.  
• Provide access to the building, handle and relay couriers/deliveries, electronic and physical filing, and receive and process donations. 
• Support new personnel with onboarding and building orientations. 
• Support Supervisors/Managers with the general operation of administrative functions and special projects as needed. 
• Provide information and referrals on Canadian Red Cross services, programs, and volunteer opportunities.  

Mentor girls as they explore new challenges, develop ready-for-anything skills, and take on new challenges, in a safe and supportive atmosphere during weekly meetings and optional outings and camps.  A Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required and provided free of charge.  Two references and an interview are part of the screening process.

Volunteer Drivers 
Our volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to provide an invaluable service by assisting staff and foster families with the transportation needs of children in the care of SMFC. Volunteer drivers transport children and their families to various appointments such as access visits, medical appointments and schools throughout Muskoka and the Simcoe County region at the request of the Agency. Punctuality and reliability are a necessity for this position. Our drivers are compensated a fair rate per kilometre.

Once fully trained, you will help us assist the police to search for lost and missing persons, and respond to emergencies in the community (e.g. natural disaster cleanup and support)

Wiidookdaadiwin is a lookout site built to honour and acknowledge Indigenous and settler relations in Simcoe County. There are Indigenous plantings and story boards in both Ojibway and Engish, and a tremendous vistia lookout of Georgian Bay and the region. 

We are looking for summer volunteers to assist with daily operations such as opening and closing the site. This will require the volunteer to have a car and ideally live locally. Volunteers will also be required to particiapte in special events such as the official grand opening in June, 2025. Further terms and dates for these roles are negotiable. We are looking for 3-5 volunteers for the summer from May to September, 2025.

The site is located at 2816 George Johnston Road, Springwater, Ontario. 

Community volunteers are trained to work as part of a team to assist victims of crime or tragedy by providing emotional support, practical assistance and community referrals. Support can be on-site or by phone. Referrals are from police and community agencies.

 As a crisis responder you may be asked to assist the OPP or other first responders to help victims and/or families.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) Network provides bereavement support at no cost to families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy at any stage, or the death of their baby, up to 12 months of age. There are two sessions this year

Camp 1: August 5-8 (Tuesday to Friday) Ages 5-12
Camp 2: August 11-15 (Monday to Friday) Ages 5-12
Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

There is before care 8:00 am to 8:45 am and after care 4:15 pm to 5:00 pm

Kids Help Phone’s texting service is the only free, 24/7 bilingual text line for people in Canada. The service is delivered by trained, volunteer crisis responders who work remotely. 

We are recruiting overnight and or bilingual crisis responders who will answer texts from young people looking for support in both English AND French.

The volunteer position will be remote, meaning that you can participate from anywhere in Canada as long you have a strong, reliable internet connection!  

Our volunteers need to be enthusiastic about helping people!

You can be a professional, student, teacher, retiree, or anybody else with a willingness to learn how to support people over text.  

The role of a crisis responder is to bring texters from a “hot” moment to a cool calm one, and to help them come up with a plan to stay healthy and safe.

Crisis responders are trained to do this using active listening and collaborative problem-solving.

Run a 7 week program within the elementary schools for kids in grade 6,7 and/or 8. The program focuses on core themes including; body image, self-esteem, healthy eating/activity and building healthy relationship. Volunteers are responsible for a group of 4-8 kids. Its once a week for 90 minutes and its a 7-week program. They run during the school day 9-3pm, Monday-Friday from September-June. Volunteer can run multiple groups during the school year. Location of the program is Barrie, Innisfil, Angus, Baxter and Minesing.

JA Central Ontario is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated in-school volunteers to empower the next generation through financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness.

Volunteers join a classroom of eager students to facilitate an exciting JA learning experience. Working with students in grades 3-12 (the age range depends on the experience you're teaching), volunteers bring the program content to life and use their real-world experience to help students learn all about these important life skills.

Through our highly interactive learning experiences you will support students in developing the business and life skills they need to build an exciting future. Acting as a resource, facilitator, motivator and role model you will teach a JA learning experience in the classroom. You can volunteer on your own, you and a colleague/friend can sign up together, or we can match you with a partner. We have multiple programs to choose from, depending on your interests and skills.

JA will also provide all necessary training and support to help you you empower the next generation as an in-class volunteer.

The program lasts 6 hours per session, and volunteers can take part multiple times.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, as a  complete vulnerable sector screening is required.

The following elementary school programs are always in high demand:
• More than Money (Grades 3-6) In JA's More than Money program, students are introduced to the intersection of financial literacy, entrepreneurship and social studies learning objectives. Throughout the program students will have the opportunity to think like an entrepreneur and develop business strategy and money-management skills that they can apply to a simulated business.
• Our Business World (Grades 5-6) In JA’s Our Business World program, students explore how businesses are created and what makes them thrive. Using games and multimedia, students learn about innovation, start-ups and self-employment
• Dollars with Sense (Grade 7) In JA's Dollars With Sense program, students get the vital tools they need to make smart financial decisions, live debt-free and become savvy investors. Students learn personal money management skills that they can apply to their lives, beginning now.
• Economics for Success (Grade 8) In JA's Economics for Success program, students take a closer look at the advantages of staying in school, as well as learn what’s needed to succeed in today’s workforce. Volunteers from the local business community partner with classroom teachers to help students see the link between education and achieving their goals.

The Youth Justice Committee (YJC) bring together youth 12-17 who have been involved in the Criminal Justice System, their parent(s), and trained members of the community. Together, the youth plan and agree to make amends for their actions. This program offers youth alternative measures to the Criminal Justice System.

In this volunteer role:

* You would attend YJC meetings to determine appropriate and meaningful ways for the youth to make amends for their actions.  
* Ensure that the youth is aware of the purpose of the meeting and willing to discuss the matter. 
* Explore the perspectives of all parties, including the youth and others represented at the meeting, such as community members, community agency representatives, and the parent(s). 
* Present and agree upon appropriate and meaningful sanctions for the youth to complete in order to be successful in the program. 
* Respect the confidentiality of the youth and other YJC members throughout the process.

About RVH Foundation and Keep Life Wild Cabinet: At RVH Foundation, we are fueling the future of healthcare in Simcoe Muskoka by rallying our community through philanthropy to deliver the care people need, close to home. The Keep Life Wild Cabinet plays a vital leadership role in this work, inspiring and mobilizing community support for the RVHF capital campaign through giving, volunteerism, and positive advocacy. 

As an Ambassador, you'll be the volunteer face and voice of our organization, sharing your personal journey and experiences with RVH or the RVHF with audiences at presentations and in the community (group tours, service clubs, meetings with prospects, etc.). You'll have the opportunity to attend cheque presentations, representing RVHF and expressing gratitude to our generous donors, including conducting thank-you phone calls. Additionally, you'll engage with the community by participating in the RVHF community booth at various events in the region. 

How you’ll work with the Foundation staff team: Ambassador Cabinet Members will be called upon as needed by various members of the Foundation staff team and will report to the Manager, Donor Experience.

• Help needed in sorting toys and items for children and women in shelters or in need
• Work is done in afternoons
• Different things happen such as gift bagging or craft kits and other things
• Everything is related to getting gifts ready for mostly children for all the special occasions
• There are some things that can be done in your own home such as making stuffies, hand puppets, sewing book bags or pencil cases, knitting or crocheting. 
• One afternoon a week or a month is needed

Bench Warmers are friendly people who allow others to engage in conversation in either parks or malls. Studies show that loneliness has the same dire consequences on physical health as smoking a pack a day! Social connection is so needed (and often lost in the shuffle of busyness and technology) and MatureMinds Friendship Bench offers an opportunity for interaction and social engagement. The implementation is simple but the results are deep and  meaningful. Volunteers will receive training in active listening, self care, mental health awareness, and ageism. After successfully completing the training, volunteers become Bench Warmers. They sit on a bench either at a park or in a mall with a sign that says "If you want to talk, I want to listen." Be part of the cure for the loneliness epidemic! Become a Bench Warmer.

Call numbers for bingo games that are put on for the residents.

As a Bingo Volunteer, you are responsible for sharing the mission and values of the Ontario SPCA with participants at the Gaming Centre.  
 
Responsibilities: 
Be a positive role model, assist Bingo participants with the navigation of the e-bingo gaming consoles, share the organization's mission and how it benefits from each Bingo event, maintain a professional appearance, attitude and communication when representing the organization.

To attend Board of Directors Meetings. Participate in board activities and decision making.

As a volunteer in the Calm H.O.M.E.S program, you will play a key role in supporting participants through the concept of "body doubling." This involves providing a calm, supportive, and non-judgmental presence as participants work to declutter their homes. While you will not perform the decluttering tasks yourself, your presence helps participants stay motivated, focused, and accountable, creating a productive and comfortable environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a "body double" during in-home support sessions, encouraging and supporting participants in their decluttering efforts.

• Adhere to recovery-oriented and trauma-informed principles when engaging with participants.

• Maintain confidentiality of participant information, including names, addresses, and home circumstances.

• Provide respectful, professional, and mental health-informed support.

• Refer to the program/participant information form to understand specific needs and goals of the program.

• Support program workshops, which may include assisting with tasks such as child-minding, administrative support, or event organization as needed.

• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Glowing Hearts Charity as outlined/provided.

TIME COMMITMENT

Training:

• 1.5-hour online program overview, role orientation, training on recovery-oriented and trauma-informed support practices on Monday, September 15th, 2025 from 6:30pm-8pm

• 2-hour online participant connection, introduction to decluttering, program details on Monday, September 29th, 2025 from 6pm-8:00pm

In-Home Participant Support Sessions:

• 1-hour biweekly sessions for 10 weeks (5 sessions for each participant or family supported).

REQUIREMENTS

•  Transportation: Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation to participant homes.

If you are a current Glowing Hearts volunteer with a recent PRC on file, you may be exempt. Sarah will contact volunteers individually regarding this.

Share your love of reading and comfort with Zoom meetings, by facilitating a small online book club for people with development disabilities.  This role promotes literacy, community interaction and building relationships.  

As a Book Club Facilitator you will manage the weekly Zoom meetings (admitting members, sharing screens, assigning cohosts etc.) as well as assign Individual readers, plan sessions and read some of the chosen text to/with the group.

This group usually focusses on one book per season and works slowly through chapters, reading together and discussing.

This group meets virtually every Tuesday from 6-7 pm, therefore the Facilitator would need to commit about 1.5 hours each Tuesday and perhaps an additional 30 - 60 minutes weekly for planning.

Help make our book sale a success - lend a hand and share your love of books! We’re looking for friendly volunteers to assist with:

• Book sorting
• Event setup
• Directing customers to their next great read
• Tallying customers purchases
• Event clean up

Our next sale is May 22-24, 2026. Volunteers will also be needed prior to these dates to assist with sorting and set up.

Café volunteers assist with the operation of the Café by providing staffing and services. Responsibilities include:

The Help is Here Campaign is a community-driven initiative to raise ongoing awareness, support, and sustainable funding for VSSC. With growing demand for services, the campaign seeks to strengthen crisis response, enhance volunteer training, and build lasting partnerships. Our goal is to establish a sustainable, volunteer-led campaign to support victims across Simcoe. 

Position Overview: Community Circle Member

Community Circle Members play a vital role in advancing the Help is Here Campaign by engaging their local communities and networks. Working under the guidance of the Community Circle Chair, members help raise awareness, build relationships, and support fundraising efforts to ensure every victim in Simcoe County has access to immediate and compassionate support.

We are looking to fill 2 (maximum) positions in communities across Simcoe County to ensure geographical reach. Individuals need to be located in or able to travel to; Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Barrie, Alliston, Innisfil, Bradford, and Midland/Penetanguishene.

Responsibilities

●  Assist in the targeted identification of local fundraising opportunities where VSSC can be the ‘charity of choice’ (third-party) and corporate donors/sponsors aligned with the mission and values of VSSC.

●  Communicate and secure identified fundraising focusing on third-party and corporate donor/sponsor opportunities in support of VSSC.

●  Identify, secure and represent the Help is Here campaign using provided materials at local third-party events, outreach activities, and public functions independently or alongside VSSC staff.

●  Participate in recognition and gratitude of local third-party and corporate supporters.

●  Attend periodic Community Circle team meetings to report on activity, including successes and challenges.

●  Provide input and feedback to the Community Circle Chair on community needs and opportunities.

●  Promote VSSC’s mission and the Help is Here Campaign within local networks and online using consistent messaging as an organization Ambassador.

Volunteers will play an important role in helping maintain a welcoming, clean, and enjoyable environment for guests. Responsibilities include walking throughout the bingo hall to keep the space tidy by collecting garbage and used bingo cards, greeting and assisting players as needed, and helping deliver food and beverages to tables.

At the end of the evening, volunteers will also assist with light clean-up duties such as wiping down bingo screens and ensuring the space is left organized.

This role is customer-service focused and a great way to engage with the community—no money handling or number calling is required.

Bridget’s Bunnies is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families through the heartbreak of pregnancy and infant loss. We provide Comfort Kits, remembrance resources, and compassionate community care, ensuring no one walks this journey alone.

Bridget’s Bunnies is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to assist with special events throughout the year, including community events and Bridget’s Bunnies fundraising events and activities. This role involves representing Bridget’s Bunnies brands throughout the Simcoe/Muskoka region.

Hours: Volunteers will be expected to participate in events throughout Simcoe/Muskoka as their schedule allows

Location: Simcoe/Muskoka Region

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent Bridget’s Bunnies professionally and positively at community events.
• Assist with event setup, engagement, and teardown at third-party fundraising events, street fairs, and other promotional activities.
• Provide information about Bridget’s Bunnies to the public and be comfortable speaking about Bridget’s Bunnies' mission and values.
• Encourage community participation and fundraising efforts.

GrandPals are older adults (not necessarily Grandparents) who love children and want to make a difference for generations to come. GrandPals are trained in the stories they have to share over 5 weeks. After training, we connect GrandPals with a classroom where they meet with the same 2-4 students over a period of 8 weeks. The stories that GrandPals share about their own lives become part of the students' curriculum. Students capture the stories presented in written assignments as well as art projects.

Across the country, the Gutsy Walk is made possible due to the time and talents shared by thousands of volunteers in their communities. With a collective goal to deliver our mission of finding a cure for Crohn's and colitis, we are greatly appreciative and thankful for our volunteers who have continuously led the Gutsy Walk to success each year.

As a Gutsy Walk Planning Committee Member, you’ll be working closely with a team of other volunteers to plan and promote your local Gutsy Walk. Volunteers will receive on-site training and be equipped with safety vests to ensure a safe and supportive experience. Please note that this role does require standing and working outdoors for the duration of your shift.

The Opportunity

The Support Group Facilitator plays a critical role in the delivery of support services at community level. Once a month, they create a confidential and welcoming in-person or virtual space, where people living with Parkinson’s and/or their care partners can share their experiences and develop supportive relationships in a group setting. The time commitment for this opportunity is 3 – 5 hours per month.

As a Support Group Facilitator, you bring a keen desire to make a difference in the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s. Your empathetic approach, enthusiasm for learning, and ability to facilitate discussion about issues related to Parkinson’s are key factors in ensuring that monthly support groups are safe spaces.

One support group meeting per month (1-1.5 hours per month), plus 3-5 hours monthly for administrative and organizational tasks. Stability is essential for Support Groups so a commitment of at least one year is appreciated.

Are you a wordsmith who loves people? We are looking for older adult volunteers to help newcomers to Canada feel welcome. Help newcomers get socially connected and practice English by playing scrabble! An extensive vocabulary is not necessary (there are dictionaries for that :)) so if you are friendly and want to make a meaningful contribution by helping newcomers, this could be the club for you! Scrabble Club will last four weeks, allowing volutneers to build relationships with newcomers. 

Shelter volunteers are required from 9AM to 12PM and 6PM to 8PM (5PM to 7PM on Saturdays and Sundays) daily to complete tasks including feeding, refreshing water bowls, scooping and changing litter boxes, cleaning cages, and  changing linens for the cats at the shelter.  

Other volunteer opportunities include cat socializing, fundraising, adoption volunteers, vet runners, admin - calling potential adopters and conducting follow up calls.

Job Summary: 

The Learning Disabilities Association of York-Simcoe (LDAYS) is seeking dedicated volunteers to support youth with learning disabilities and ADHD in the SoAR (Some Assembly Required) Mindful Transitions Program. This strengths-based program helps Grade 7–8 students prepare for high school and Grade 11–12 students prepare for post-secondary pathways by building skills in executive functioning, organization, self-advocacy, and communication. Volunteers will facilitate planned sessions through group activities and discussion, and create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Sessions run once per week for 45–60 minutes over a four-week period and take place during school hours or in the evening at schools or community locations across York Region and Simcoe County. Volunteers must commit to the full duration of the program they support.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the delivery of program sessions using the provided lesson plans, materials, and goals.

• Encourage skill development in areas such as organization, time management, planning, communication, and self-advocacy.

• Adapt facilitation approaches to meet diverse learning needs, while keeping the integrity of the curriculum intact.

• Complete a session report after each session and submit a final evaluation summary at the end of the program as required.

• Communicate observations or concerns to the Program Coordinator as required.

• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries in alignment with LDAYS policies.

• Develop and maintain an understanding of learning disabilities, ADHD, and transition supports.

Requirements:

• Education: Enrolled in or completed post-secondary studies in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Child and Youth Studies, Social Services, or a related field.

• High school diploma may be accepted based on experience 

• Experience: Experience working with youth or individuals with disabilities is preferred; experience supporting program delivery or group activities is an asset.

• Certifications: Access to transportation and recent Vulnerable Sector Screening Check is required. CPR and First Aid is an asset but not required.

• Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills. Must be patient, punctual, and reliable.

• Availability: Must be able to commit to the full four-week program cycle and be available during school hours or evenings depending on session scheduling.

Volunteers visit seniors' centres, hospitals and schools with properly evaluated dogs, no less than 1 year old, providing residents and patients the companionship of a pet.

Volunteers will be responsable for meeting with a clients weekly or bi-weekly to add enrichment to peoples lives. Clients are blind or have vision loss to some degree, which often requires adpaments to life. Volunteers are required to socialse with them and add normal contact back in their lives after the effects of the pandemic. They can go for walks, visit community gardens, really anything the pair would enjoy. The requirement are up to the two people who are paired.

We empower young girls and women to be everything they want to be, and as a volunteer, you will help make that happen! Our volunteers support girls as they build confidence, develop new skills, and become leaders in their communities. 
As part of a unit’s leadership team, you’ll facilitate fun and engaging program activities, like scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, games, and more. You can choose to work with girls in one of five branches: Sparks (age 5-6), Embers (age 7-8), Guides (age 9-11), Pathfinders (age 12-14), or Rangers (age 15-17).  
Volunteers will receive access to a digital program platform stocked with age-appropriate activities and meeting tools, as well as training on delivering activities in ways that will empower and encourage girls. 
Units meet on a regular basis, from weekly to monthly, depending on the age of the girls. Volunteers commit to 3 hours per week for unit meetings plus additional hours, when required, for trips and events.  

What You’ll Do as A Group Leader: 
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for girls! 
- Plan regular unit meetings in person, outdoors, and online, during which you’ll facilitate girl-driven programming that is fun and engaging. 
- Organize in-person or virtual opportunities beyond unit meetings, including community service activities and camps.  
- Support shared leadership and decision-making with girls and other volunteers.  
- Promote Girl Guides to girls and women locally.  
- Provide ongoing communication to girls and parents/guardians about unit activities.  
- Assist with unit administration tasks, such as maintaining girls’ program records and health forms, managing safety protocols, and ordering badges.  
- Assist with maintaining unit finances as required by your province.  
- Support the semi-annual sales of Girl Guide Cookies.

• Session Management: Direct sessions to build on skills the child is learning in school and provide one-on-one tutoring.

• Communication: Maintain regular communication with administrative staff to ensure satisfaction of both parents and the child.

• Student Engagement: Communicate with students to understand their learning needs and create engaging, interactive learning experiences.

• Academic Support: Educate students on various subjects, assist with homework assignments and test preparation, and support understanding of numeracy and/or literacy concepts using the Ontario curriculum.

• Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies tailored to students with learning disabilities and ADHD, focusing on enhancing academic skills and self-confidence.

• Progress Monitoring: Track and document student progress, providing feedback and adjusting methods as needed.

• Training and Development: Attend virtual training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on best practices and program guidelines.
