Description

Description (Service) Provides positive adult role models to boys and girls, ages 6 to 16, through volunteer mentoring relationships that are based on Fun and Friendship, programs include:
  • One To One Big Brother/Big Sister program, an adult mentor, 20 years of age and up, also open to couples wishing to volunteer together, is matched to a child for weekly contact, requires a minimum one year commitment
  • In-School Mentoring, an adult mentor, 20 years of age and up, is matched with a child in a partnering school
  • Go Girls, female mentors 18-25 yrs facilitate a 7 week program at a local school with Grade 6 - 8 girls
  • Game On, male mentors 18-25 yrs facilitate a 7 week program at a local school with Grade 6- 8 boys
  • various fundraising events are held throughout the year that encourage community involvement, including: Bowl for Kids, Golf for Kids, Big Bash, Curl for Kids
  • team works remotely and all programs for our mentors are done within partnering schools or in the community

Volunteer Description
  • Young Adults: 18-25yr old for Go Girls! and Game ON program
  • Adults: 20yrs and up for Big Brother/Sister Mentoring, participating in the program as part of a Couple or volunteering with the In School Mentoring Program
  • Other volunteer opportunities include the Board of Directors or other committees, fundraising, assisting with special events and projects
