Description (Service)

The National Association of Federal Retirees or Federal Retirees is the largest national advocacy organization representing active and retired members of the federal public service, Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, and federal appointed judges, their partners and survivors. Federal Retirees works with members of Parliement to advance important policy recommendation during the government's mandate. Such recommendations are:

  • Retirement income security
  • National seniors strategy
  • Veterans well being
  • Pharmacare

Meetings:
Monthly: first Wed of each month via ZOOM or in-person (TBD) 10:30 am-12 noon in Jan, Feb Mar, Apr, Jun, Sep, Nov

Bi-Annual: Branch Annual Meeting (May 6, 2026) and Branch General Meeting (October 8, 2025) at the Barrie Legion, 410 St. Vincent St., Barrie 10 am-1 pm, lunch is included
Areas Served Muskoka District ; Parry Sound District ; Simcoe County
Boundaries Collingwood in the west, South River in the north, Beaverton in the east, Alliston in the south
Eligibility Membership is open to anyone paying into or receiving a pension from Canada's Public Service, the RCMP or the Canadian Armed Forces, federally appointed judges and to honourably discharged non-pensioned veterans, their spouses and survivors are also eligible to join Federal Retirees
