Description

Description (Service) Designed to help people with mental illnesses/mental disorders who come into conflict with the law, project includes:
  • Mental Health Court Support Services in Criminal Courts in Barrie, Midland, Collingwood, Orillia and Penetanguishene
  • Court Diversion for individuals charged with minor criminal offenses and Release from Custody services for inmates being discharged from Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene
  • Release from Custody also assists people 16 years and older who reside in the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN who may be at risk of involvement/re-involvement in the criminal justice system

Eligibility
  • Ages: 12 year(s) and up in Barrie, Orillia, Midland, Collingwood
  • Youth, Young Adults, Adults with have a mental illness and/or intellectual disability or acquired brain injury who reside in Northern part of Simcoe County
  • Must be willing to receive and participate in services specific to their needs
Application Referral - anyone can make a referral to the program (self referral, individual referral or agency referral).
