Description

Description (Service)

Responsible for snow removal from roads and sidewalks

  • combination of City-owned trucks and contracted units plow, sand and salt roads and sidewalks with consideration to safety, environmental and budget concerns
  • services are provided to Barrie roads through a Priority and Secondary route system, see map for details
  • some pedestrian walkways are not maintained for winter operations as posted
  • Track the progress of road plows and see when your street was last serviced with the Plow Tracker
  • From Dec 1-Mar 31 Overnight Parking Restrictions in Effect:
    • Overnight on-street parking is not permitted 3 am-6am within the Downtown BIA and 12:01 am-7am on other City-owned streets, to ensure streets can be cleared of snow and that large emergency vehicles can get down the street
    • possible exceptions to these dates and times include Winter Maintenance Events before December 1 or after March 31, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve, notice will be posted by 4 pm the previous day
