Public Comments Independent Living Services Simcoe County (ILS) is looking for volunteer Board Members. Board members will oversee the governance of the agency and ensure ILS operates in a fiscally sound and prudent manner. Board members will also lead/participate in a committee or subcommittee, contribute to a positive board culture of teamwork, communications, learning/growth and results, and be an avid proponent of ILS's success, and inform others about ILS, its Mission, Vision and programs. 
 
 
 
ILS welcomes applicants with relevant lived experience and candidates with a broad reflection of identities including Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC), LGBTQ2SI+, age, abilities and socioeconomic background.

Description

Description (Service) Community Development and Training and Consultation work supports improvements in accessibility. Offers public education programs relating to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and disability related topics, and accessibility consultations to individuals, businesses and organizations.

Member of the North Simcoe Muskoka Community Support Services Collaborative, the Ontario Association of Independent Living Service Providers, the Ontario Community Support Association and the Simcoe Muskoka Integrated Fall Strategy (SMIFS).
