Description (Service)

Provides clothing, household items, medical aid devices and grocery gap (in between food Bank orders) to those in need

  • requests acknowledged within 24 hours via email and/or phone call
  • 48-72 hour turn around goal from initial request to porch delivery. Items can also be picked up if arrangements have been made
  • frequency of requests for assistance is once per 90 days for a maximum of 4 emergency requests, submitted in three month intervals, over a one year cycle
  • provide 'start over' kits which contain household items - linens, table ware, kitchen tools and small counter top appliances
  • help with food gaps related to specific dietary needs, diapers/toiletries, small grocery order to tide people over until their next Food Bank order, etc.
  • holds clothing drives and free pop up shops throughout the year
  • support with physical items only, do not provide cash or gift cards
  • accepts donations of gently used items including clothing, household items (gently used, clean linens and kitchenwares, infant diapers
  • unable to accept furniture, large appliances
  • accepts monetary donations
  • confidential & respectful
  • numerous Community resources available on incredibly active, moderated Facebook group/page
  • collaborates with other social agencies for most effective use of available resources
  • Volunteer driven and supported, always looking for passionate, positive people to join us in support of their endeavours, High School Students welcome

Warehouse hours: Mon-Sat 9 am-12 noon
Areas Served Simcoe County ; within 40 km radius of Barrie City Hall, * via client pick-up only. Delivery available within Barrie.
Eligibility Must live in Barrie City limits to be eligible for delivery
Requests from outside Barrie City limits requires an agency to fill out the Request Assistance Form
Application Self and Agency referral using Request Assistance Formon website, agencies can opt to not identify clients
Languages English; Use email supported by Google Translate. Happy to use a translator.
