Description (Service)

Programs designed to advocate for and to engage and support Older Adults

  • Volunteer Opportunities: older adults are given opportunities to show their strengths
    through programs such as GrandPals, Scrabble Club, Friendship Bench
  • Education/Advocacy Workshops & Presentations for organizations (staff teams,
    volunteers, commuity groups and older adults): topics include Ageism, Caregiver
    Resilience, Communication Strategies, Self-care Practices, Mental Health Awareness.
    Presentations can be customized.
  • Community Programs/Events: to reduce social isolation; includes Slow Cooker Club, Generations Over Dinner, Everybody's Birthday, GrandPals, Scrabble Club, Friendship Bench
  • Community Resource Consultation: helping older adults find community resources,
    including (but not limited to) volunteer opportunities, social supports, employment,
    health/wellness services, etc.
