Indigenous Patient Services (IPS) team supports Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) patients through every step of their healthcare journey at RVH to ensure patients feel safe, respected, and supported in ways that honour their identities, cultures, and lived experiences

Services include:

• Cultural Support: Access to ceremony, Elders, and traditional practice
• Wholistic Approach: Support for mind, body, spirit, and emotion
• Care Navigation/Planning: Guidance through traditional and Western medical systems
• Advocacy & Liaison: Communication between patients, families, and care teams
• Community Connections: Coordination with local healing and support services
• Practical Support: Assistance with access to transportation, supplies, and traditional medicines
