Description

Description (Service)

Assists with first/last month's rent and moving/storing expenses. May assist with rental and mortgage arrears when the individual has been issued a N-4 and is facing eviction. May also assist with utility arrears including hydro, gas, oil, wood and water - must have a disconnection notice.

A combined maximum of $1500 for eligible singles/couples and $3500 for eligible families in a 24-month period may be available.
Requests for financial assistance will be considered based on individual circumstance and available funding.

For individuals in receipt of Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support, applications can be completed over the phone or they can attend their local Ontario Works office.

For individuals not on Social Assistance that require help, applications can also be completed over the phone. Additional documentation may be required.

Application Interested applicants can call. An Information sheet will be provided to the applicant (either via e-mail or verbally) with the information that is required for the application.

When the applicant has gathered the required information, they can call back and complete the application with an attendant over the phone.

On completing the application, the applicant will be required to submit any verification required (i.e. 30 day bank statements, N-4, notice of disconnection etc.).

Once that information is received, a caseworker will call the applicant to finish application and determine eligibility.

If an applicant requires the support to complete any part the application (i.e. support from a community agency), consent will need to be provided by the applicant in order to do so.
