Description
| Description (Service) | The Simcoe County Green Bin Collection program collects compostible items from all single family homes and some multi-residential homes. Household organic items are to be placed in Green Bins which are available from the County. If you can eat it it goes in the Green Bin, including meats, bones, fats, shellfish etc. Pet Waste, Kitty Litter and animal bedding can now go in the green bin. Paper fibre products can be included such as take-out food and coffee cups (loose not stacked) waxed cold drink cups
Green bins are to be left at curbside on your recycling collection days collected bi-weekly. Maximum limit per container is 20 kg (44 lbs). To find out if a particular item is compostible go to this website: http://www.simcoe.ca/SolidWasteManagement/Pages/wizard.aspx Green Bins are picked up weekly. Call the customer service number if you have any additional questions. |
