Description

Description (Service)

Housing Retention Program aims to prevent or end homelessness by improving access to adequate, suitable and affordable housing and homelessness services for people experiencing homelessness and for people at-risk of homelessness.

A combined maximum of $1500 for singles/couples and $3500 for families in a 24-month period may be available for one or more of the interventions - First or Last Month's Rent, Moving Expenses, Rental/Utility Arrears.

Assistance will be considered based on individual circumstance and available funding. Applications are completed over the phone.

Areas Served Simcoe County
Eligibility Low-income households including working individuals, OW, ODSP, CPP, EI, WSIB recipients.

Application Interested applicants can call to make an application.
  • Additional information (lease agreement, 30-day bank statements, N4, disconnection notice, quotes etc.) may be required for the application.
  • Applicants will be advised of the required documentation which can be submitted in person or via e-mail.
  • Once the information is received, a caseworker will call the applicant to determine eligibility. Processing times do vary.
  • If an applicant requires the support of a community agency to complete any part of the application, consent from the applicant is required.
